 Kitsilano Reunion

A Reunion for kids and parents who lived in Kitsilano during the 60’s and 70’s. We were lucky to grow up in a time where everyone had kids that played in the alleys, rode bikes all day, hung out at Kits Pool and Peter’s Ice Cream, we never wore shoes and had to be home when the street lights went on. A simpler time and those memories will stay with us forever. Now 60 years later, we are going to get together to reunite with old friends, tell our stories and hopefully continue on with our friendships. Look for your neighbour, babysitter, teacher or first love. There will be light snacks and non alcohol beverages, slide shows and great music. Please send Joanne any photos of your childhood and pictures of our neighborhoods, for the slideshow to Tickets are free, but limited, reserve now.  look under Kitsilano Now and Then

Life Force Yoga

is an unique blend of ‘Tibetan Rites’ and ‘Kundalini Yoga’ which include specific breathing exercises, stretching postures, a brief relaxation and short meditation.  The class begins with an ancient set of exercises known as the ‘Tibetan Rites’.  These rites are aimed at balancing our chakras, which are energy vortexes that reside within our bodies.   After exercising these rites, we continue with a kundalini yoga set.  Kundalini yoga is a powerful yogic tradition which combines postures, breath and sacred sound.  This particular yoga targets our inner core and nervous system thereby strengthening our bodies to withstand the stresses of our times. ….. This unique blend of both the ‘Tibetan Rites’ and ‘Kundalina Yoga’ proves to be an outstanding way to meet today’s challenges by maintaining a deep inner balance,  both physically, mentally and spiritually.  Join me for a new and rewarding experience……..Funded by Neighborhood Small Grants / Greenest City Fund – Vancouver Foundation. Some yoga experience necessary / Please bring your own mat…Thank-you……

                                   NACHO Music Society

Have you ever wanted to learn a musical instrument, or have you played an instrument decades ago and wish to re-ignite that musical interest?  It’s never too late to get involved in music. The Newbie Adult Chamber Orchestra (NACHO) brings adults together who now have the time to pursue music.  At NACHO meetings you will learn how to follow the direction of a conductor and how an orchestra works together from sheet music and other materials.  NACHO is a social orchestra, we do not rehearse for, or participate in public performances.  We get together to play and talk about our musical efforts, share experiences and just have a really good time…NACHO members are ready to laugh at mistakes.
